Cowboy Spaghetti - based on a recipe from Rachael Ray
8 oz. whole wheat pasta
3 slices turkey bacon, chopped
1 tbs olive oil
1 lb ground turkey
1 tbs minced garlic
1 can diced Italian tomatoes
1 14 oz. can tomato sauce
1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
2 tbs sugar
Cook pasta according to package directions. In a deep pan, saute chopped bacon for 5 minutes in olive oil, until slightly crispy. Remove from pan. Cook ground turkey until no longer pink. Add minced garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar. Cook for 10 minutes on medium low heat, stirring occasionally. Serve over pasta.
there's an error in the recipe but i overcame it and it was a great dish! i also used a lovely local pork bacon; and brown rice spaghetti.
ReplyDeletethe fourth sentence of instruction says to "cook turkey bacon" but that's when to cook the ground turkey "until no longer pink."
i added the crisp bacon pieces as i served it.
