Goop

This stuff is really, really cool - it falls somewhere between a solid and a liquid, and passes back and forth between each state. It kept my daughter entertained for about 45 minutes, which is an eternity in toddler time.

Goop

2 parts cornstarch

1 part water

*I used 2/3 cornstarch and 1/3 cup water

Mix.  Pour onto a flat pan and smoosh it around, make it drip, use cookie cutters, etc.

Duck craft

Materials

1 paper plate

yellow paint or crayon

yellow construction paper

orange construction paper

2 google eyes

Fold a paper plate in half and staple it together.  Trace your child's hand on the yellow construction paper and cut out.  Cut out yellow circle for duck's head.  Cut out beak and foot.  

Have your child color or paint the paper plate.  Let your child glue on the various pieces.

Easter Basket Craft

This is FooFoo. He is my daughter's best friend and goes EVERYWHERE with her. He sits at the table and "watches" her while she eats, sits next to her while she sits on the potty, rides in the stroller with her, etc.  So it was only fitting that when we made this cute little Easter basket, it became FooFoo's new mode of transportation.

Supplies

oatmeal canister

colorful foam

scissors

glue

Cut the top off of an oatmeal canister.  Measure foam, and then cut to fit around the canister.  Glue foam onto canister.  Cut a handle for the canister.  I used a stapler to attach it because my glue wasn't strong enough to hold.  Give your child stickers and let them go crazy decorating their basket.

Homemade Finger Paint

We've been doing Easter crafts around here, so I let my daughter use this to paint some Easter eggs that we will punch holes in and string into garland.  It was super easy to make and a lot of fun for her..and me!

Homemade Finger Paint - Our Best Bites

3 tbs sugar

1/2 cup cornstarch

2 cups cold water

food coloring

*Note: I made half of the recipe, and it was more than enough for one child.

Mix sugar and cornstarch together in a pan. Add cold water and combine with a whisk. Cook on medium heat until the mixture thickens to a thin pudding consistency. I recommend stopping the cooking process a little before it's the consistency you'd like because it thickens upon standing. Once removed from heat, cool and then separate into bowls and color as desired.

Peanut Butter Playdough

I made this for my daughter, and it was definitely a big hit with her.  She did NOT use it as playdough though.  I told her this was playdough she could taste, so she proceeded to shovel as much as she could into her mouth before I took it away!  In her defense, it was very tasty, so I don't blame her.

2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup honey

Mix. Play. Eat. Enjoy!
