Drunken Pork Chops

Drunken Pork Chops - adapted from Tasty Kitchen

6 pork chops
2 tbs olive oil
8 oz. beer
1/3 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
Cajun seasoning

Season chops with Cajun seasoning.  Brown chops in olive oil over medium high heat.  Meanwhile, mix beer, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.  After chops are browned, add sauce.  Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.

  4. I'm preparing this recipe as I type. I used chicken instead of pork, because that's what I had in the freezer today. It smells amazing!!!

  11. Any kind you would like. :) I've mostly used Michelob Ultra or Bud Lite, whatever my husband has in the refrigerator.

    1. I've never tried it, but if I did, I would still brown the pork chops and then pour the sauce over them in the crock pot. Hope that helps!

  13. If cooked in crock pot, how long does it have to cook? I would think not over two hours since the meat is browned already...looks and sounds delicious...

  16. I used too much Cajun seasoning. I added 2T corn starch as one person suggested. With less seasoning (my fault, not recipe,) this is definitely a keeper! I also covered the pan and baked @325 for about 30-45 minutes. I need a recipe that tenderizes tough pork chops. We purchased a hog and some of the meat is tough. Will make this again.
