Baked French Toast Sticks



Baked French Toast Sticks - adapted from recipezaar

8 slices whole wheat bread
1/4 cup melted margarine
3 eggs
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut each slice of bread into thirds. Combine margarine, eggs, sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl.  Dip each piece of bread in the mixture, coating each side. Allow excess to drip off.  Place dipped bread onto a baking pan sprayed with cooking spray.  Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon.   Bake for 25 - 30 minutes, flipping half way through.  Serve with syrup, butter, or powdered sugar.
