Whole Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

Whole Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes - slightly adapted from Tasty Kitchen

1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
2 tbs vegetable oil
margarine
Heat large pan on medium and melt 1 tablespoon margarine.  Sift the dry ingredients in a large bowl.   Add buttermilk, egg, and oil to dry ingredients. Whisk well until combined.  Pour 1/4 cup batter into hot pan for each pancake. Flip when the surface of the pancake becomes somewhat dry and starts to bubble.  Melt another tablespoon of margarine between each batch of pancakes.

Makes about 10 pancakes.

  1. Those look amazing! Oh, how I miss pancakes! I'm off eggs and dairy right now but am bookmarking these for when I can make them. I love that they are with whole wheat and they still look light and fluffy!
