4 bone-in pork chops
5 oz. pineapple juice
1 tsp vinegar
3 tbs brown sugar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup ketchup
Place pork chops in crock pot. Combine pineapple juice, vinegar, brown sugar, and ketchup. Pour over top of pork chops. Cook on high 4 - 5 hours or low 6 hours.
Can the pork chops be frozen?
ReplyDeleteYes, they can. :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure what I did wrong....but this was terrible :(
ReplyDeleteI agree! I followed the recipe exactly and my chops were very dry, the sauce was watery and had too much of a vinegar taste. We had take-out that night. The picture looks declicious!
DeleteMaybe neither one of you can cook!
DeleteI don't see how one teaspoon of vinegar could give it too much of a vinegar taste ??? Are you sure that's all you put ?
DeleteSorry to hear that. What was wrong with it?
ReplyDeleteIm making this tonight with chicken breasts, it smells sooooo yummy! Question though. Im 3 hours in (cooking on high)and the sauce is very watery because of the juice from the chicken. Will this correct itself as it keeps cooking?
ReplyDeleteYou may have to thicken it. Try mixing 1/4 cup cold water and 2 tsp cornstarch together. Stir into the sauce and it should thicken up some. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying this tonight but I switched out the juice for fresh pineapple chunks and onion chopped. Serving over Jasmine Rice.
ReplyDeleteI added corn starch and garlic powder to the sauce. I think it would be good with red pepper flakes too if you want it more spicy.
ReplyDeletei love these pork chops i have made them 4 times now and everytime they turn out amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI usually do this on the stove wiyh meatballs and a little different recipe for the sauce but this looks really good. I'm trying this tonight with chicken breasts instead.
ReplyDeleteWait a second, the Pinterest page specifies using 10 ozs. of pineapple juice, but the recipe above only specifies 5 ozs. which one is right?
ReplyDeleteWell the recipe is mine, and I used 5 oz. of pineapple juice. Someone may have typed it incorrectly on a Pinterest link. Hope that helps! :)
DeleteTrying this right now .... it smells heavenly and the sauce is delicious uncooked, so after cooking I'm sure it will be better. I added one green pepper chopped in large chunks and one can of pineapple chunks. My boyfriend will be thrilled to come home to dinner tonight. Brown rice and broccoli on the side,I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI don't have pineapple juice but I do have a can of crushed pineapples would that do??
