Old-Fashioned Pancakes

Old-Fashioned Pancakes - adapted from allrecipes

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tbs white sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
3 tbs melted margarine

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.

Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

  1. I am glad I saw your post on tastespotting! I recently made some buckwheat pancakes http://lolacooks.blogspot.com/2010/09/organic-buckwheat-mini-pancakes.html but i like your old fashioned version here!

  3. Loved the taste, quick and easy to make. I did omit the salt because I generally do not add salt. Will make again. Thanks. :)
