Cowboy Spaghetti

Cowboy Spaghetti - based on a recipe from Rachael Ray

8 oz. whole wheat pasta
3 slices turkey bacon, chopped
1 tbs olive oil
1 lb ground turkey
1 tbs minced garlic
1 can diced Italian tomatoes
1 14 oz. can tomato sauce
1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
2 tbs sugar

Cook pasta according to package directions. In a deep pan, saute chopped bacon for 5 minutes in olive oil, until slightly crispy.  Remove from pan.  Cook ground turkey until no longer pink.  Add minced garlic and cook for 2 minutes.

Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar.  Cook for 10 minutes on medium low heat, stirring occasionally.  Serve over pasta.

  1. there's an error in the recipe but i overcame it and it was a great dish! i also used a lovely local pork bacon; and brown rice spaghetti.

the fourth sentence of instruction says to "cook turkey bacon" but that's when to cook the ground turkey "until no longer pink."

i added the crisp bacon pieces as i served it.
